Meghan McCain, daughter of moderate Republican Sen. John McCain, is supporting a “wacko bird” for president.
There’s plenty of discussion about how beneficial endorsements are in an election, with the exception being gaining support from the wrong person, which Ted Cruz may soon discover.
The Republican presidential contender earned the backing of former rival Carly Fiorina on Wednesday, which was a respectable get, but that endorsement begot another — Meghan McCain.

“I’ve been hesitant about Ted Cruz and the Carly Fiorina endorsement has swayed my personal opinion,” McCain said Wednesday on Fox News’ “Your World with Neil Cavuto.”
The younger McCain is not going to persuade many voters, but some may see the moderate Republican’s support as a kiss of death for a staunch conservative like Cruz, akin to being branded “establishment.”
The reaction on social media suggests McCain’s endorsement is more trouble than it’s worth … here’s a sampling from Twitter:

Sorry, Cruz, for the Meghan McCain endorsement. https://t.co/4aqsy973VO

Considering how most in the grassroots feel about Meghan McCain and her father, I’m not sure any GOP candidate should want her endorsement.

@trscoop @ProudInfidel33 This will no doubt upset her daddy.

Show me one voter who cares what Meghan McCain thinks & I’ll show you an uninformed voter. https://t.co/NZReMgzbhN

@jneeley78 All it took to get Meghan McCain to support Ted Cruz was Donald Trump

So Meghan McCain has been told by Fiorina & Graham to back Cruz – so she’s backing Cruz. Way to be an independent thinker Meghan!
