Actor and outspoken conservative Jon Voight had a lot to say about why he is choosing to back Republican Donald Trump for president.
Voight spent about as much time speaking directly to the American electorate as he did praising Trump when he gave the GOP frontrunner his official endorsement on Tuesday.
In a statment to Breitbart News, Voight pointed to the connection that has been long in the making between Americans and Trump. He touted his favorite candidate’s life as an “open book”, and Trump as a leader who will work to bring the country back to prosperity.
I, Jon Voight, can say, without hesitation, that Donald is funny, playful, and colorful, but most of all, he is honest. When he decided to run for president, I know he did it with a true conviction to bring this country back to prosperity. He is the only one who can do it. No frills, no fuss, only candid truths.
Voight believes much of the anti-Trump rhetoric stems from a fear of having a candidate no one can control.
There are many Republicans fighting to keep him from winning the Republican nomination. You know why? Because he has no bull to sell, and everyone will discover the bull most politicians spew out is for their own causes and benefits. They never dreamed they would be losing control.
I am very disappointed at the talk show hosts, also spewing out lies and propaganda against Donald. Why, I wonder? The only thing I can think of is he represents a form of freedom none of them ever saw before, and they are bewildered about it, and frightened about it.
Voight urged Americans who’ve felt the “meltdown” of America under Obama’s reign to see clearly what will be the “right vote to save our nation.”
Trump acknowledged the endorsement in a Facebook post on Wednesday. “A great honor- from a Hollywood legend. Thank you, John!” Trump’s post read.
We think he meant “Jon,” but hey, Trump’s a busy guy.
