Rush Limbaugh on Fox News: Trump has much bigger upside than downside

There’s a “much bigger upside than” there is downside to Donald Trump as a Republican presidential nominee, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said during a rare appearance on “Fox News Sunday.”

He told Fox News host Chris Wallace that “you don’t win everything” — that you have to deal with what you get, but “with the case of Trump, there’s a much bigger upside than downside.”

The popular radio host added that “it’s serious this time” as evidenced by a much greater schism between establishment Republicans and conservatives. The divide is now “longer, broader, wider than I have ever seen it.”

He expressed faith that the GOP will eventually settle its differences, and whomever the party nominates will be better than what the Democrats have to offer for 2016.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio won’t cut it as the party’s standard-bearer, however.

“I think it ends with everything working out,” he said. “I think it ends with a nominee.”
