Sarah Palin came to Donald Trump‘s defense by offering him advice in the wake of Mitt Romney‘s attack on the Republican presidential candidate.
“Don’t take the bait, Mr. Trump,” the former Governor of Alaska wrote on her Facebook page Thursday in response to Romney’s speech bashing Trump.
Palin, who endorsed Trump in January, said the “machine’s” attack on the GOP front-runner is more of an attack on Americans who are calling for a change: “It’s not about you,” she wrote.
“Donald Trump is the shock the Permanent Political Class needs to wake them up,” she said in the post, which included a video mocking Romney.

Shortly after, Palin followed up with a “Thank You Mitt” post directed to the former Massachusetts governor who lost his own presidential bids in 2008 and 2012.
“Trump’s favorables just rose again,” she wrote, calling Romney’s speech “silly and contradictory.” She concluded her post with “Way to go, Mitt.”
