Van Jones gets in hot fight over ‘leftist organization’ KKK: ‘This is what liberals do, divide people by race!’

CNN contributors Jeff Lord and Van Jones got into a passionate debate Tuesday over Donald Trump’s controversial remarks regarding David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan.

And Jones got up-close and personal with Lord, a vociferous Trump supporter, while making his point.

“The things that Donald Trump has done, and not just in this race, are horribly offensive,” Jones said. “There is a dark underside here … he is whipping up and tapping into and pushing buttons that are very, very frightening to me and to a lot of people.”

Jones said when Trump “is playing funny with the Klan, that is not cool.”

“You need to take a serious look at the fact that this man is playing fast and loose,” Jones said. “When he talks about terrorism, he gets passionate, he says, ‘No, this is wrong,’ but when he talks about the Klan, [he says] ‘Oh, I don’t know, I don’t know.’ That’s wrong!”

Jones placed his hand on Lord’s shoulder and got real close, reminding his colleague that he compared the KKK controversy to Obama’s former preacher Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

“Rev. Wright never lynched anybody! Rev. Wright never killed anybody!” Jones exclaimed, adding that it’s wrong for Trump to be playing “word games.”

Lord countered by claiming the KKK was a leftist organization, before pointing to the Democratic Party’s history of dividing people by race.

“What you’re doing here is dividing people!” he told Jones. “This is what liberals do! You’re dividing people by race!”

The two were such a ratings hit, CNN brought them back Wednesday morning and even though they had a night’s sleep, neither man altered their previous point of view:
