Conservative shopper app wakes Americans up to how liberal name-brand stores are

DC-NEWS 300X71By Ginni Thomas

Imagine the purchasing power to be harnessed if the center-right started using its spending power, like the left has, to influence corporate America.

While many feel their country slipping away from the principles that made it great and exceptional – liberty, free markets, the Second Amendment and traditional values — one congressional spouse says the “greatest danger to America is one of apathy.”

David L. Black from Tennessee, a forensic scientist and entrepreneur, has a tool enabling conservatives to have a second vote when they spend money. Using the easy tech app 2nd Vote brings your values to bear as you spend money.

2nd Vote claims to be the leading advocate for conservative consumers, and is building a track record of demonstrated results. Just last week when Lands’ End chose to feature abortion advocate Gloria Steinem in its Easter catalog, 2nd Vote joined others to highlight this to their members. The company’s followed apology and retraction demonstrated the power of fed-up Americans working together in the marketplace of ideas outside of electoral politics.

“There are extremists advancing very extreme, progressive, liberal, socialist, even communist agendas, and we need to wake up Americans to understand the foundational values of our nation,” Black says in this 18-minute video interview for The Daily Caller News Foundation. 2nd vote empowers citizens to use research and make informed choices.

The left has pressured corporations and big non-profits to do their bidding on liberal or radical causes for years. The book, “Biz-War and the Out-of-Power Elite: The Progressive-Left Attack on the Corporation” details tactics the left uses to threaten, intimidate and pressure corporations into supporting their ideological agenda with prestige or funding. Other examples of the left’s tactics are here and here.

Often corporations simply want to avoid negative publicity or swarmings, like Brendan Eich’s ousting from Mozilla over a small contribution to a faith-based initiative. Without a counter pressure, corporations feel they have no option but to “pay to play” and accede to the left’s demands to avoid controversy.

2nd Vote, says Black, is not a think tank. “It’s an act tank.”

As examples, Black says conservatives, if they can avoid it, should pick Dunkin Donuts, rather than Starbucks, or Heritage Girls, rather than the Girl Scouts. Chick-Fil-A scores the best at 2nd Vote, while 47 corporations tied for the lowest score, including Samsung, Aveda, Goldman Sachs, Clif Bar, Timberland and Legg Mason.

Many citizens still choose to eat at Chick Fil-A as a political statement after it came under attack from the left for supporting traditional values. Yet, the left’s efforts have ricocheted ever since the center-right pulled in — business has been booming at the fast-food chain.

With some 140,000 members joining 2nd Vote in the last two years, Black hopes to reach 1 million members soon by building more coalitional activity across non-profits and churches on the center-right.
