Melania Trump made a rare appearance behind the podium Saturday night.
During an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday, host Jake Tapper took note, with many other news networks, that Trump’s wife spoke to the crowd during his victory speech.
“Are we going to hear more from her going forward?” he asked.
“Well, Jake, she’s a very, very brilliant woman,” Trump said, adding that his wife is also accomplished in her own right.
“She was tremendously successful before I met her,” he said, however, “she also is a very private woman, and there’s something very nice about that.”
The real estate magnate said it was a spur-of-the-moment decision on his part to have her speak, and although it took her by surprise, she got up and spoke beautifully.
“She has some interesting causes that are going to be fantastic for the country. . . she’ll be very much involved,” he said.
