‘I found your wallet’ letter doesn’t include wallet or cash, but gives guy a good laugh

When this New Yorker lost his wallet at a concert last week, the last thing he expected was to get it or any of its contents back.

But not only did Reilly Flaherty get his identification and credit cards back, he got a good laugh to boot.

The unidentified person who returned the contents wrote a letter, which Flaherty posted to Instagram, explaining why he kept the cash, a Metro Card and the wallet itself.

thanks.. I think?

“I found your wallet, and your drivers license had your address so here’s your credit cards and other important stuff. I kept the cash because I needed weed, the MetroCard because, well, the fare’s $2.75 now, and the wallet ’cause it’s kinda cool. Enjoy the rest of your day. Toodles, Anonymous,” the person wrote.

While Flaherty was slightly miffed that he didn’t get it all back, he’s happy he got some of it, and thought the note was hilarious.

“If nothing else, it’s something me and my friends have laughed about quite a bit,” he told NBC 4 New York.

More good news for Flaherty came when the Kings Theatre, where he lost the wallet, heard about the story and offered him two free tickets to an upcoming event.
