Why Ronald Reagan fans are furious over Lena Dunham’s new role as Peggy Noonan

Liberal loon actress Lena Dunham has been cast in an upcoming play mocking the alleged dementia of the late President Ronald Reagan during his second term.

Dunham has reportedly been cast in the role of the author and Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan, who was also a Reagan speechwriter and special assistant.

It’s difficult to understand what would be so funny about mocking another person’s disease — if it in fact even existed at any time during Reagan’s term in office.

Also, one would be hard pressed to imagine anyone so ill-suited in the Noonan role as Dunham, and social media agreed, even from a physical standpoint.

But the harshest criticism was reserved for the differences in ethical and intellectual makeup of the two women.

Thoughts of the former speechwriter also evoked memories of one of the most beloved speeches from Reagan written by Noonan: “The boys of Pointe du Hoc” delivered in France on the 40th anniversary of D-Day.

Noonan herself offered this backstory to the speech:

Several years ago, Noonan appeared on “The Kelly File” and offered Fox News host Megyn Kelly additional insight into the drafting and delivery of the speech.
