New York values? State taxpayers to fund new ‘Killing Republicans’ play

It’s hard to argue with Sen. Ted Cruz‘s assessment of New York values after you see this.

Dick Zigun, a N.Y. based playwright, is putting together a new musical titled “Killing Republicans,” centered around assassinations and assassination attempts on GOP presidents, the New York Daily News reported.

“I wanted to explore why the Republican party, champions of blacks’ lives under Abraham Lincoln, has now completely flipped now,” the liberal playwright told the News.

Zigun’s assertion is delusional. The ideology behind the Republican Party has always been that of giving a hand-up, not a hand-out. What’s changed is the collective mindset that handouts in the form of massive entitlements is somehow compassionate. We can see from the evidence everywhere, that it’s not.

But, it isn’t just one playwright from the state that calls New York values into question.

The production group in charge of the play, Coney Island USA, was founded by Zigun and is funded in part by the Fund for the City of New York, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York Community Trust, the New York Council for the Humanities, the New York State Council on the Arts, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and New York City Councilman Mark Treyger.

Zigun insisted on Twitter that his play was not a call to violence but was based on history, like Fox News host Bill O’Reilly’s “Killing” book series.

Social media users were not convinced.
