It takes a special kind of person to commit a crime while in a courtroom facing separate charges and in a building filled with police officers.
A Pennsylvania man appearing in court for a traffic violation was arrested for allegedly trying to sell illegal drugs in the seating area.
After his hearing Monday, for the charge of driving while under suspension, Christopher Durkin, 35, approached and engaged a man in the seating area of the courtroom, reported KDKA TV. A sheriff’s deputy in the Pittsburgh courtroom asked Durkin to leave.
An unidentified man informed the deputy that Durkin had just offered to sell him drugs. Police said that Durkin was tracked down in the hallway and found with two unit doses of Suboxone, a prescription pill used to treat addiction.
Durkin was then arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, reported KDKA.
As the saying goes, you can’t fix stupid.
