Trump takes own survey: What Fox News said to push him over edge

Fox News Channel replied with a sarcastic response to a poll posted by Donald Trump to his Twitter page Tuesday in which he asked his followers if he should attend Fox News’ Republican presidential debate Tuesday.

“We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings,” the statement read.

It was this response that caused Trump to decide to back out of the debate before the results of his poll were even in.

After a Trump spokesman confirmed to CNN that Trump wouldn’t be making the debate, Fox released another scathing statement blasting Trump for threatening debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

Meanwhile, Trump’s closest contender Ted Cruz has challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate where he promised Kelly wouldn’t be one of the moderators.
