Anyone calling for apology from Chris Matthews? ‘Two Cuban guys’ dig is OK because he’s a Dem?

MSNBC host Chris Matthews mocked the idea of a debate without Donald Trump, and since he’s a Dem and can get away with it, he managed to sprinkle in some racial digs at the same time.

“Who is going to watch a debate between the two Cuban guys?” the host of MSNBC’s “Hardball” asked the Washington Posts’ Robert Costa. “Who is going to watch a debate between Rubio, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. Who cares?”

“You know they’ve been fighting in this interleague fight over who is the hawkish guy, or whatever. Who is going to watch that Thursday night?” he asked.

Later on in the segment, he opined that Trump’s attacks on Cruz as an unlikable character with no friends seemed to be working, and took another shot at Cruz’s Hispanic heritage.

“Doesn’t anyone like him?” Matthews asked Costs.

“He has Mike Lee, the Utah senator,” Costa replied.

“His Sancho Panza, yeah I know that guy,” Matthews said, referring to the sidekick of fictional character Don Quixote.

“Your words not mine,” Costa shot back.
