Obama: ‘Michelle is not running for president’

Millions of Americans likely breathed a sigh of relief this week when President Barack Obama let it be known — emphatically — that his wife, Michelle, will not be running for president.

Attending a town hall in Baton Rouge, La., on Thursday, the president was asked by a member of his fan club about the possibility of the first lady running.

“Since you can’t run again for another term, is there any way that we as a group can talk the first lady into running?” the man asked.

“No!” Obama replied immediately to a room full of laughter. “No, no, no, no. No, no.

“Let me tell you, there are three things that are certain in life,” he added, to remove any doubt. “Death, taxes, and Michelle is not running for president. That I can tell you.”
