To hear Ann Coulter tell it, the Republican Party’s response to President Obama’s State of the Union, was more of a rebuttal of Donald Trump‘s views than those of the president.
And Coulter recommended Trump to deport the messenger — South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
Haley gave the GOP’s response and in its finest tradition of pandering to Hispanics, she spoke favorably about immigration before saying, “we live in a time of threats like few others in recent memory.”
“During anxious times, it can be tempting to follow the siren call of the angriest voices. We must resist that temptation,” the governor said. “No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country.”
A clear reference to Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims entering the United States following the terrorist attack in San Bernardino … at least “until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”
All of which set Coulter off on social media.
[email protected]@[email protected] – even GOP response to Obama's SOTU is a paean to immigrants. And GOP can't figure out why Trump is sweeping the country.

Trump should deport Nikki Haley.

Nikki Haley: “No one who is willing to work hard should ever be turned away.” That’s the definition of open borders.

There is no way to “properly vet” — as Nikki Haley says — the 680k immigrants from Muslim countries we let in every 5 years.

Nikki Haley: “The best thing we can do is turn down the volume” Translation: Voters need to shut the hell up.

Coulter also noted that the shooters in the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino and Chattanooga “would have passed Haley’s rigorous vetting test.”
If Coulter’s goal was to get attention, as a few suggested, her night was a wild success. Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter — good and bad:
Looks like @AnnCoulter is begging for attention again. Gotta keep selling books. pic.twitter.com/bvGK5oryhk

@AnnCoulter We should thank Nikki for handing the Presidency to Trump.
