A vile rapist who wanted his victim’s boyfriend to listen to her being raped was caught in the act because of his demand.
Robert Giles, 27, kidnapped the victim Monday and brought her to the back of a closed adult novelty store parking lot where he instructed her to call her boyfriend so he could listen to the assault, WSBTV reported.
Instead of calling her boyfriend, however, she called 9-1-1.
The operator dispatched police to the scene while he pretended to be the woman’s boyfriend.
“It was quick thinking on his behalf. In fact, (it) might have saved her life,” Maj. Joe Woodall of the Clayton County police said.
“She explained to him what the perpetrator had told her, that he was wanting him to listen while she was being raped,” Woodall added.
The operator, who acted as the woman’s boyfriend, tried to talk Giles out of raping her while police were on the way.
“They were able to stop it right then and there and snatched him right from the car,” Woodall told WSBTV.
Giles has been charged with rape, obstruction, false imprisonment and kidnapping charges are being prepared, WSBTV reported.
