Franklin Graham tells Greta real reason he left GOP, what he plans to do next

Evangelist Rev. Franklin Graham, the son of minister Billy Graham, announced on his Facebook page Monday that he changed his political affiliation from Republican to Independent.

“I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party or tea party to do what is best for America,” Graham wrote on Facebook.

A stance that reflects the growing despair many Americans feel toward the political class, which shows no inclination of being willing to make the difficult decisions necessary to address the serious problems facing this nation.

Chief among his reasons, Graham pointed to the $1.1 trillion government-funding bill passed by Congress last week that included funding for Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in America.

He joined host Greta Van Susteren Wednesday on Fox News’ “On the Record” to explain his decision and what his next steps will be in response to his disappointment in government.
