Viral video of little girl who finds Santa shopping at Wal-Mart will melt your heart

Sophie found Santa at Walmart this evening. She saw him then kept sneaking up on him. She asked him if he was Santa at first and if you turn up the volume you can hear the rest. So cute and innocent. For one young West Virginia girl, meeting Santa is something she will never forget, and she has captured hearts as a video of their encounter has gone viral.

Little Sophie Jo was shopping with her family at her local Walmart in Hurricane when she saw the jolly man’s look-alike, complete with white beard and red sweater. Only, Sophie Jo figured he was the real deal.

After sneaking up after him several times, she finally asked the man if he was Santa.  Roger Larck played along, talking to Sophie Jo about reindeer and cookies. The two-year-old’s father posted the video to Facebook where it soon caught the attention of local news and, eventually, went viral on social media.

Apparently, Larck is used to the attention this time of year and enjoys playing the part. His wife posted on her Facebook “He grows his beard every year just for this purpose.”

‘I’m tickled I’ve been a part of something that other people have enjoyed,” Larck told WSAZ TV. “It was just me having a conversation with a little girl. It melted my heart when it happened.”

And if Sophie Jo ever doubted, she got another chance to meet Santa when the two appeared for a follow-up story on a local news station.
