‘Tis the season to let your fellow Americans know what’s going on behind their backs.
South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott released a parody version of the poem “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” to warn citizens of President Obama’s ongoing efforts to empty the US detention center at Guantanamo Bay.
“Twas the night before Christmas/When all through the White House/The President was transferring terrorists as quiet as a mouse,” Scott began the revised classic before sounding the alarm on another reported release of prisoners that is impending.
“And then in a twinkling I heard on the news/ Obama’s campaign promises win, and Americans lose,” he added. “Despite what the law says and even his own AG/ The president searches and searches to find them a key/To open up an American community and lock up Guantanamo with glee.”
