Santorum sets Mika off in testy exchange: Forget Muslims, what are you doing about ‘white men with guns?’

When Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum defended his position that Muslims-Americans refuse to fight the cancer of radical Islam, an MSNBC co-host asked the former senator what he was doing about “white guys with guns.”

Santorum infuriated co-host Mika Brzezinski to the point of disgust, which, in all fairness, doesn’t take much effort.

After playing a clip from the last GOP presidential debate, “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough asked Santorum what we can do to let Muslims know that “they are every bit as part of the American dream as you or me.”

“I would ask that in reverse. what are they gonna do to reach out to make sure they are confronting…“ Santorum began.

No, no, no, I don’t think so,” Scarborough interrupted, saying that Santorum implied “that 95 percent of Muslim-Americans are complicit” in terrorist acts committed by jihadists in the United States.

Brzezinski jumped into the debate.

“I’ll turn the argument around on you — Why aren’t you working on white men with guns? I mean come on Rick Santorum, you know better, you’re a smart guy,” she said.

The expression on Santorum’s face said it all. “Huh?” He nonetheless held his own.
