Former heavyweight boxing champion “Iron Mike” Tyson said he still supports Republican presidential challenger Donald Trump even after proposing a temporary ban on Muslim immigration. Tyson is a Muslim.
Tyson said he supported Trump “big time” in an interview with “The Huffington Post” in October.
“We tried Obama, right?” he said at the time. “So now let’s try something new. Let’s run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job.”
His Muslim faith notwithstanding, Tyson’s support hasn’t wavered.
“Hey listen, anybody that was ever President of the United States offended some group of people,” Tyson told TMZ Sports at a Washington, D.C. airport.
“He deserves a chance.”
