Trump floats ‘new and improved’ slogan to Chris Wallace

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump expanded on his “Make America Great Again” slogan and answered GOP establishment leaders calling for a brokered convention.

He also had some less than flattering words for Sen. Ted Cruz, claiming that he’s unqualified to serve as president because he’s a bit of “a maniac.”

Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” host Chris Wallace asked if he wasn’t playing on the fears and prejudices of Americans in calling for a temporary halt of Muslim immigration.

“I want to make America safe,” the real estate developer countered. “In fact, I want to add to it: ‘Make America Great Again. Make America Safe Again.”

Wallace observed that Cruz is slightly ahead of Trump in Iowa by some polls, and asked what he thought of the Texas firebrand.

“I don’t think he’s qualified to be president,” Trump said at about the 7:25mark. “Because I don’t think he has the right temperament. I don’t think he has the right judgment.”

He gave as an example going into the Senate “a little bit like a maniac.”
