Fox Business Network host Stuart Varney may have gotten more than he bargained for when he pushed analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters to share what he was saying to his TV on Sunday night as President Obama delivered a rare Oval Office address on terrorism.
Peters, known for his fiery rhetoric when it comes to the Obama administration, made little effort to bite his tongue in responding, calling the president a “total pussy.”
“First of all, he keeps speaking about, ‘We can’t give into our fears, don’t be afraid,’” Peters said. “Look, Mr. President, we’re not afraid. We’re angry, we’re pissed off, we’re furious! We want you to react, we want you to do something.”
“You’re afraid!” he added. “This guy is such a total pussy, it’s stunning.”
Surprisingly, Fox did not bleep the comment, which suggests someone fell asleep at the switch or there’s no delay in the broadcast.
Peters went on to say that America wants action against the Islamic State and charged that Obama “has done more harm to American police departments than he has done to the Islamic State.”
Varney eventually cut Peters’ tirade off and asked his guest to tone his language down.
“I can tell you’re super angry and I asked you what your reaction was,” the host said. “But you can’t use language like that on the program, I’m sorry.”
Fox News executive vice president Bill Shine released a statement saying that Peters has been suspended for the flub, along with a Fox News co-host, Stacey Dash, who had her own slip-up on an earlier show, “Outnumbered.”
His statement read:
“Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air,” Fox senior executive vice president Bill Shine said.
“Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language, and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks,” he said.
