Coworkers threw them a baby shower months before Muslim couple murdered them in cold blood

farook surrounded featA bittersweet detail emerged about the Muslim couple that targeted and killed colleagues in a horrific mass murder Wednesday.

Co-workers at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino had recently thrown a baby shower for killer Syed Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, The New York Post reported.

Although reports indicate there had been a dispute at the company holiday party before Farook stormed off and returned with his wife to unleash a reign of terror, co-worker say he was generally well-liked. He was a quiet man who had just returned from paternity leave, according to co-workers.

Patrick Baccari who shared a cubicle with Farook told the Post he thought Farook was living the “American Dream,” and never suspected him of being a fanatic.

Baccari also said someone at the party had asked, “Where’s Sayed?” before a group photo just before Farook and Malik returned, according to the Post.

Despite the supposed altercation at work, authorities suspect the attack had been well thought out in advance. Both Farook and his wife reappeared in a coordinated attack with full tactical gear, armed with “long guns.”

The deadly duo’s six-month-old child was left that morning in the care of Farook’s mother according to Counsel on American-Islamic Relations, the Post reported.
