She was a convenient liberal media target.
Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina addressed the liberal media backlash to her stance on Planned Parenthood on “The Kelly File,” Tuesday.
Following the shooting last week at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic, several media outlets have blamed Fiorina and other conservatives of inciting the violence with rhetoric critical of the organization.
Host Megyn Kelly asked Fiorina to respond to the left’s criticism and their calling her a “psychopath” for her words.
“This is what the left wing does,” said Fiorina. “They demonize the messenger when they cannot take the message.”
“I haven’t used hyperbolic rhetoric about Planned Parenthood,” she said. “I’ve spoken the truth. And I will continue to speak the truth.”
Fiorina believes the backlash is due to the fact that she is “Hillary Clinton’s worst nightmare.”
“I am a conservative woman who stands up for life,” she said. “I am a conservative woman who can effectively combat the line on the left about the war on women.”
Although Kelly pointed out that the liberal criticism is based on what they see as the candidate’s false accusations against Planned Parenthood, Fiorina disagreed.
“They are taking issue because they do not like the message,” she said. “And this messenger will not be silenced.”
