On its Facebook page, the Norman Police Department shared a photo of Officer Kyle Canaan with the animal Tuesday, saying “Our officers encounter unexpected things every day while on-duty.”
Responding to a call about a “donkey on the loose,” Canaan loaded the animal in to the back of his car and took it to a home to await its owner.
The post has attracted social media attention as it states the obvious:
“It’s not everyday that you see a donkey in the backseat of a police car!”
