Cruz schools media on jumping to conclusions: Shooter registered as a woman, independent voter

It was reported that Robert Lewis Dear – known now as the “Planned Parenthood killer” after killing three people last week, including a law enforcement officer – identified himself on a voter registration form as an unaffiliated voter and as a woman.

It’s unknown at this time whether it was a clerical error, or Dear erred in filling out the form, or if he in fact identified himself as a female.

According to records obtained by The Gateway Pundit, Park county, Colorado lists Dear as a female, referring to her voting status as active, and indicating that she is unaffiliated (with any political party).

A second voter form, obtained by the Pundit, indicates that Dear is a female:

Sen. Ted Cruz made reference to this while speaking to a group of reporters in Newton, Iowa Sunday.

When the Texas Republican told the press “at this point there’s very little evidence to indicate” any connection between pro-life activism and the shooting, a journalist reminded the presidential hopeful that it had been reported that he mentioned the phrase “baby parts” when he was apprehended.

“It’s also been reported that he was registered as an independent and a woman and a transgendered leftist activist,” Cruz said according to The Texas Tribune. “If that’s what he is, I don’t think it’s fair to blame on the rhetoric on the left. This is a murderer.”

Wise words.
