Carolina Panthers’ star quarterback Cam Newton fed and entertained about 900 underprivileged, Charlotte area children at his annual Thanksgiving Jam, Monday night.
Newton has been criticized for his celebratory touchdown gyrations — including his famous “dab”maneuver. But he put it to good use this time by hosting a “dab” competition among the kids before the food was served, according to USA Today.
Reporter Jonathan Jones, who covers the Panthers for The Charlotte Observer, was there to record the event and tweeted:

Newton’s antics have given him a reputation as a poor role model — but you wouldn’t know it seeing him with the children. The excitement on their faces told a whole different story.
