Greta blasts Obama for being consummate ‘no-show’ to one of America’s oldest allies

greta-van-susteren2Fox News host Greta Van Susteren went “Off the Record” Monday to blast President Barack Obama for failing to show up and show support for our oldest ally — France — after the November 13 multi-targeted terrorist attack in Paris.

She recalled that this was the second time this year that the president went AWOL in France — the first time was after the January massacre at the Charlie Hebdo offices by Islamic extremists.

“After that embarrassing no-show, I figured he had to have learned his lesson, and this time he’d make a grand gesture,” Greta said. “But no, he didn’t.”

She added that French President Francois Hollande is flying to Washington, D.C., Tuesday to meet with Obama.

“It should be the other way around!” she said. “That’s the way the Btits and the Germans are doing it.”

She noted that British Prime Minister David Cameron traveled to Paris to meet Hollande Monday, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel is scheduled to do the same Wednesday.

“And want to feel worse? Guess who was the first foreign head of state to show up at the White House after we got attacked on 9/11? It was the French president, Jacques Chirac.”

France was also our first ally. It recognized the United States as a sovereign nation in 1778, declared war on England and provided money and matériel to arm us during the Revolutionary War.
