Rush put on spot about candidates in ‘Fox News Sunday’ rare appearance

chris-wallace-rush-limbaugh In a rare appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh was put in the hot seat by host Chris Wallace, and the popular radio host, going on 28 years of success with his own show, handled it like a champ.

Near the close of the interview, at about the 7:30 mark, Wallace challenged Limbaugh to a “lightning round” of questions about the Republican presidential candidates.

His responses included observations that Donald Trump has proved “Republicans need not fear” the media and that Ben Carson is “one of the most decent human beings in this country.”

Also, Ted Cruz turned out to be on Limbaugh’s hot list.

The interview began with Limbaugh calling President Barack Obama’s strategy for dealing with the Islamic State “inept and incompetent and nonexistent.”

He told Wallace that the president’s “link to Iran and Syria … is his excuse” for not dealing with the terrorists.

“I don’t like saying any of this,” he said, “but it’s obvious that Obama is very sensitive to Iran’s needs and is trying to satisfy them,” referring to the administration bending over backwards to reach an Iran nuclear agreement.

He said that we should hit the Islamic State where it hurts — its oil revenue — but that the administration’s rules of engagement are preventing us from doing that.

“The purpose of war — the purpose of military — is to kill people and break things,” he told Wallace. “And you keep doing that until the other side says ‘I’m sorry’ and surrenders.”

But instead of the terrorists, “Barack Obama’s number one enemy is the Republican Party and the conservative movement.”

He added that we should hit the pause button on Syrian immigration.

“It’s about the defense and protection of the United States of America and our Constitution, which is what is the primary job of the President of the United States,” he said.

“And again, he just doesn’t seem to be oriented in that direction, or interested in it.”

Last month, Threshold Books released Limbaugh’s latest children’s book, “Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner.” already on the New York Times bestseller list, Amazon readers give it a five-star rating, and would make the perfect stocking stuffer for your future conservative political pundit.
