A BBC reporter couldn’t contain his emotions as he reported from Paris.
Graham Satchell was reporting Monday from the French capital when he stopped mid-report and put his hand to his head to compose himself.
“Last night it was incredibly busy. There were vigils here, there were vigils at the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower was lit up in red, white and blue, which I think is a sign of hope,” he said, as his voice cracked and he lowered his head.
“Sorry, I’m so sorry,” he said.
“I will leave it there. There is certainly hope here in Paris,” he said before walking off camera, visibly distraught.

Satchell responded by thanking his supporters later in the day.
Thank you so much for all the kind tweets. Humbled by Parisienne response in last few days. It was just a moment – slightly mortified. — Graham Satchell (@GrahamSatchell) November 17, 2015
