In the wake of the coordinated, multi-targeted attack by Islamic State terrorists in Paris, France, the Pentagon announced Sunday that it has released five more detainees from Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba.

One of President Barack Obama’s first promises was to close the facility at Guantanamo Bay. The latest National Defense Authorization Act, approved by a veto-proof majority in both chambers of Congress, included a provision that the prison there will not be closed.
