Florida lawmakers ask Gov Scott to reject Syrian refugees for sake of public safety

A father and son Florida lawmaker team is petitioning the state’s governor to deny entry to Syrian refugees.

The Obama administration has not abandoned plans to accept more Syrian refugees into the country amid their nation’s civil war but some Republican governors have made the decision to reject the refugees entry into their states following the terrorist attacks in Paris Friday.

On Monday Sen. Don Gaetz and Rep. Matt Gaetz wrote a letter requesting Florida Gov. Rick Scott do the same.

It was posted on Sen. Gaetz’s Facebook page Monday afternoon.
