Video: Dem Sen. Claire McCaskill instructs American men ‘Just shut the hell up’

Has there ever been a more disparaging time to be a male in America than today?

Or a better time to be a Democrat?

In a comment that flips the Democratic Party’s so-called “war on women” on its head, U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said men shouldjust shut the hell up,” according to The Hill.

In a video aired Tuesday on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” McCaskill was encouraging fellow women to run for office when she suddenly veered off course to attack men.

“But equally important is encouraging more men to sometimes just shut the hell up,” she said.

“It’s not that women don’t value your thoughts, it’s just that we don’t value all of them,” McCaskill said of men. “The world doesn’t need your opinion on everything.”

Among the issues that the Democratic lawmaker felt “women no longer need to hear men’s opinions on” included Harry Potter, Star Wars, millennials, selfies, pantsuits and “all art in general.”

Granted, had a male lawmaker from the GOP offered up a similar list of things women should “shut the hell up” about, it’s likely President Obama would have gone before the country by now to denounce the effort.

But not to worry, McCaskill took to social media to shrug it off as “a joke” amid criticism … with the full blessing of the American media:

More than one social media user reminded McCskill of the circus environment currently happening in her state at the University of Missouri, where race mobs have taken over.

Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
