Liberal sheep are not the brightest – especially when you point to something shiny.
That’s just what The Daily Mail did when it unearthed an interview about Dr. Ben Carson from 17 years ago and claimed it proves Carson’s mother contradicted one of his stories about her.
In two separate interviews with the Academy of Achievement, in 1996 and 2002, the neurosurgeon claimed to have gone after his mother with a hammer because of his bad temper, a claim he reiterated on Fox News’ “The Kelly File” on Monday.
“Those claims are absolutely true, you know I am 100 percent sure that they’re true and this is simply an attempt to smear and to deflect the argument as we’ve seen many times before,” he told host Megyn Kelly.
In the interview with the Detroit Free Press in 1998 Carson’s mother discussed the incident with a journalist who retold her story:
“His mother…remembers the time she and Bennie had a spat over clothes he wanted for school.,” the article stated.
“He raised his hand; she reached for the hammer she had out while working on the house. The two might really have tangled, she says, had not her older son Curtis….stepped in between them,” according to the article.
It is unclear where the Mail believes those statements proved Carson didn’t have the hammer in his hand that his mother reached for.
Nowhere does it state Carson never had the hammer.
Despite the obvious stretch of the imagination, it didn’t take long for some on the left to take to social media and declare the article proof positive that Carson lied.
