Moderators at Wednesday’s Republican presidential debate were “booed” by the audience multiple times for relentlessly trying their amatuer hands at “gotcha” questions that backfired.

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson was severely questioned for some of his corporate associations. When the moderator asked about Mannatech, a nutritional-supplement company based in Texas, Carson replied he had no association with the company other than the fact that he gave a speech or two on the product and he takes it personally.

“To be fair, you were on their home page with their logo over your shoulder.” CNBC’s Carl Quintanilla said, smugly.

Carson said it was done without his permission.

“Doesn’t that speak to your vetting process in any way?” Quintanilla asked.

POLL: Which of the GOP candidates won CNBC’s Republican Primary Debate?

Carson didn’t have to answer as loud boos roared from the audience.
