Taya Kyle, the wife of American Sniper Chris Kyle, is planning to visit a Georgia farm whose owners made her late husband a special tribute.
Misty and Lamar Duren, the owners of Corn Dawgs, created a seven acre corn maze to celebrate the life of the famous sniper.
The maze features a design of Kyle’s face with the words Kyle’s name engraved in the field along with the words “God Bless America.”
“We decided to honor Chris Kyle and all military men and women in the military because with everything that is going on in the world today we wanted to do something patriotic,” Misty Durne told Patch.com.
Taya Kyle will be on hand at the farm on Oct. 28 between 5:30 pm – 8 pm signing copies of her book “American Wife: A Memoir of Love, Service, Faith, and Renewal” with proceeds benefiting the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, Patch.com reported.
They aren’t the only corn maze honoring the hero this year either.
Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm in Lockport, Illinois created a maze with the Chris Kyle’s name, the words “American Sniper,” “hero” and the words ISIS with a bullet piercing it carved in.
“I thought it was about time that we actually honored a hero, not a sports figure; no basketball players, no football players,” farm manager Zach Siegel told WGN. “An actual hero who put his life on the line everyday.”
Some, however, were not happy with the farm’s choice.
“They don’t like it because they think that he’s a murderer,” Kaity Seigel told the station. “We don’t see him that way. We see him as a hero. Everybody has their own opinion. This is what ours is.”
Ours too.
