Fireworks erupted as tempers flew in the House Select Benghazi committee room, between chairman Trey Gowdy and ranking Democrat Elijah Cummings, over the prior testimony of Clinton confidant, Sidney Blumenthal.
When the Republican from South Carolina noted the numerous emails directed to and solicited by Clinton, Cummings, a Maryland Democrat, insisted that Blumenthal’s entire testimony be released to the public.
Gowdy wasn’t having it.
He noted that the only behind-closed-door-testimony that Democrats want released is that of Blumenthal and senior Clinton aide, Cheryl Mills.
“I’d like to have all of them released!” Cummings shouted.
“The survivors? Even their names?” Gowdy asked.
Cummings didn’t appear to be receptive to that idea.
Each time Cummings or another Democratic committee member made a point, a split screen was presented with Clinton smirking and vigorously nodding like a bobble-head.
Eventually, Rep, Adam Schiff, D-Calif., entered the fray, and argued that because the committee released Blumenthal’s emails, it was only fair that it release his testimony.
“You keep referring to Blumenthal emails,” Gowdy shot back. “Those are [Clinton’s] emails.”
