Comedian Amy Schumer was visibly stunned when her shout out about Hillary Clinton fell flat as she hosted the second episode of Saturday Night Live’s new season Saturday.
Schumer focused her opening monologue on the need for good female role models for young girls which is surprising because the majority of her comedy routines, and her movie “Trainwreck” focus on her being promiscuous.
The comedian took shots at the Kardashians, Jessica Alba and then showed what a classy role model she is by discussing how she met Bradley Cooper and wanted to bend over and grab her ankles.
With all of that however, the biggest surprise of her soliloquy came when Schumer, the cousin of N.Y. Sen. Chuck Schumer, mentioned that she met the former secretary of state and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.
“I just met Hillary – yeah, I was pretty psyched about that,” she said to indifference and pitiful applause from the audience.
“A little discouraging, the amount of applause but, uh, c’mon Hill,” a shocked Schumer said.
It’s not their fault Amy, you said you were talking about good female role models.
