Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was appalled over the recent news that former Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will more-than-likely not receive any jail time for leaving his post in Afghanistan and spending years with the Taliban.
“I think it’s a disgrace,” the billionaire real estate developer told Fox News host Saturday during a telephone interview on her show, “Justice With Judge Jeanine.”
“He was a deserter 100 percent. It’s not like the old days. In the old days, you deserted, you were in big trouble.”
He also was critical of the deal President Obama made to release Bergdahl in exchange for five top Taliban chieftains.
“This is a typical trade with Obama,” he said. “We get Bergdahl, and they get five killers — no good!”
Trump also discussed his campaign, how the media has treated him, other GOP presidential candidates and the upcoming Democratic presidential debate.
