Fox News Channel celebrated its 19th anniversary Wednesday, and Shepard Smith, one of the original anchors, offered a glimpse into October 7, 1996 when the young upstart challenged the then-powerful CNN.
In the year 2000, Fox News saw a phenomenal 440 percent increase in viewers. Two years later, FNC’s David toppled CNN’s Goliath and never looked back.
Last year marked another triumph. Fox News topped all cable networks in prime time — even ESPN.
