Texas cowboy has NO apologies for Southern ways — and a viral video to prove it!

Chad PratherA Texas cowboy has become a viral sensation after releasing a YouTube video for his detractors about why he’s proud of being Southern.

Chad Prather, the host of Ride TV’s “It’s My Backyard,” received a private message on his YouTube channel telling him his Southern accent made him sound stupid, so he fired back with a video telling viewers what it means to be from the South.

Although Prather posted it two months ago, the video titled “Unapologetically Southern” just recently started to go viral and now has amassed more than 1 million views.

Prather told “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday that the people who wrote him were offended by his accent, so he gave them more to be offended about.

“I think that a lot of people are trying to get offended as quick as they can so they can find sympathy from somebody else,” he said. “We have this micro-sensitivity, you know, this hyper-sensitivity, to words and it’s causing people to, you know, quite honestly, try to find a pat on the back, if you will. And it’s really gotten easy to hide behind a keyboard these days and tell the whole world how they should feel sorry for you.”

But Prather wasn’t feeling sorry for anybody in the video.

“Let me remind you, we’ve got a lot of guns down here. We hunt, we fish, we burn up the ozone layer with our four-wheel drive trucks and our diesel engines,” he said. “We refer to the women in our lives as ‘dear,’ ‘darling’ and ‘sweetheart,’ not as a term that’s derogatory or offensive, but as a term of endearment, and most of them seem to like it.”

He said Southerners’ good manners come from their upbringing, where their “parents disciplined us with something a little stronger than ‘time out’ and it taught us self-respect, self-discipline and respect for other people.”

And if the people he made the video for weren’t offended enough, he closed by saying, “Here’s another term we use down South and we’re not ashamed of it. God bless.”
