Pelosi goes off the deep end when asked if a baby is human; ‘might be the dumbest response in history’

pelosi1001newHouse Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi turned on her most strident tone Thursday when a reporter asked her point blank a question she refused to answer.

But it didn’t stop the questioner — or the social media mockery that followed.

The crucial question came from a reporter for during a routine Capitol Hill briefing:

“In reference to funding for Planned Parenthood: Is an unborn baby with a human heart and a human liver a human being?”

And the follow-up:

“If it’s not a human being, what species is it?”

Watch Pelosi’s irritated, sputtering response in the exchange:

Cramming that many irrelevancies into a single non-answer isn’t easy, but Pelosi is a veteran of Washington double-talk, so first listeners are treated to her magnanimous welcome of the questioner, even if she doesn’t know who he is. Then we learn that she claims to be a practicing and “devout” Catholic (though the Catholic church’s teaching on abortion is crystal clear), then we learn that she has borne children.

But no matter how hectoring her tone might get, none of that gives her a pass on giving her opinion, as a public servant, on a central moral issue.

Then again, according to Pelosi, the central moral issue of what constitutes a human life “has no basis in what public policy it is that we do here.”

To be fair to the San Francisco Democrat, she was only the most recent of a series of Democrats who’ve been asked the same question by in recent weeks. The others, including Minority Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland, Mark Takai of Hawaii and Luis Gutierrez of Illinois, were similarly uncooperative.

Gutierrez was gutsy enough though — by Democrat standards — to admit he didn’t consider an unborn child in the first trimester to actually be human — because “That decision has already been made, and I’m going to follow the law.”

(Give barbarity of that answer a minute to sink in.)

Pelosi’s non-answer — and dismissive attitude — didn’t go unnoticed on social media. One even called the the “dumbest most dipshit response in history.”

I am not Catholic, but a failed Lutheran and agnostic. But I have to wonder why the Catholic Church has not excommunicated Pelosi years ago. Pope Francis raised Junipero Serra to Sainthood while he was her a couple of weeks ago. I believe that he should have excommunicated Pelosi during his visitation. Or at least set in motion the things that would need to be done to accomplish said excommunication.

Juniper Serra. Yeah, excommunication in the spirit of “Junipero Serra.”

Since when has it been the policy of Catholicism to approve abortion?

    1. tedlv says:

Only “devout” Catholics do. Run-of-the-mill Catholics don’t.

And now the deleted post is back. I just checked, the V word is still a flag, for some reason. Come on BPR, grow up, OK?

Remember she is the same person that said “we have to pass the bill before we can find out what it is in it!”. An they are still making it up as they go…… she is an idiot and all the voters in her district are idiots to…. they keep putting her back in office, how dumb is that.

  7. Pedro_Schwartz says:

This woman is clearly an absolute moron. Well, that’s not so unusual. There are probably a lot of morons like her. But what is simply astounding is that there are enough morons out there that she can be elected and re-elected!

  8. Fastercat says:

Please don’t use “Pelosi”. And “Catholic” in the same sentence.

  9. londontubes says:

“I am a devout practicing Catholic”. What? Do you have any understanding what the Churches stance on abortion is? Do you go to confession after each vote in the Congress which has to do with subjects which directly contradict the stance of the Church you so devoutly follow and “practice” their teachings? I certainly hope you do. Because that is what a “devout practicing Catholic” does after they sin.

  10. Steven B Fisher says:

Oh. So THIS is what a “Practicing Catholic” is like. Sure seems to be on the mark compared to Pope Francis’s message. Whew! We are gaining a clearer understanding of many things. Catholics, Does she really represent you? Does Pope Francis really represent you?
