Running out of jokes and short on excuses, Hillary shifts to shifting BLAME for email scandal

Hillary ClintonStonewalling questions didn’t make them go away. Bad jokes didn’t work either, when no one was laughing.

On Sunday, Hillary Clinton tried shifting the blame for the painfully slow emergence of details about her email server scandal.

Now, it looks like it’s all the lawyers’ fault. And she doesn’t know what’s coming next, either.

“All I can tell you is that when my attorneys conducted this exhaustive process, I didn’t participate. I didn’t look at them,” she told host Chuck Todd on Sunday’s “Meet the Press.”

“I wanted them to be as clear as possible,” she added. “They didn’t need me looking over their shoulder.”

The former secretary of state was asked by Todd if she could reassure worried Democrats that no new information would come out from her emails.

“It is like a drip-drip-drip, and that’s why I said that there’s only so much that I can control. What I have tried to do in explaining this is to provide more transparency and more information than anybody, that I’m aware of, that’s ever served in the government,” Clinton told Todd.

“I can’t predict to you what the Republicans will come up with — what kind of charges or claims they might make … I can only do the best I can to try to respond.”

Actually, it’s not “the Republicans,” the former first lady needs to worry about. It’s an organization called the Federal Bureau of Investigation she should be concerned about these days.

And, oh yes, the American voter.

Todd asked Clinton what she says to critics who say her positions continuously coincide with what public opinion polls say Americans support at the time, after he played a damning one-minute video montage of her flip-flopping on the issues of gay marriage, the Keystone pipeline and the Iraq War.

“If we don’t learn, if we don’t make decisions on the best information we have available, well that’s regrettable,” she said. “What I’ve always tried to do is say, ‘OK, what is the best decision I can think about making?’”

And that led her to using a private email server?

Social media blasted Clinton on all fronts after her interview.
