Prayer vigil held for Mohamed, clock ‘bomb’ boy: What are they praying for? And on school property?

Ahmed Mohamed, 14, has been the center of attention since being led from his high school in handcuffs Monday, suspected of bringing a homemade bomb — which turned out to be a homemade clock — to school.

Not only did he get an invitation from President Barack Obama to visit the White House, but he also was the subject of a prayer vigil Thursday, all of which stirred up cries of disbelief on social media.

Houston’s NBC-5 anchor and reporter Johnny Archer tweeted:

Archer later tweeted:

In addition to the prayer vigil and the presidential invitation, Mohamed has reportedly been offered internships and jobs by numerous companies, including Twitter.

All in all, not a bad deal for a kid who was temporarily detained while his homemade device was checked out.
