Hillary scolds Trump for not correcting town hall question; she must have forgotten THIS flashback!

When Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump did not correct a man who said during a New Hampshire town hall meeting Thursday that President Barack Obama was a Muslim, his counterpart on the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, went ballistic.

But she forgot a smear campaign from her 2008 primary battle with the president.

She tweeted:

But her tweet didn’t have quite the effect she was looking for. She was reminded of an attack on then-Sen. Obama when, during the 2008 presidential primary campaign, she used a photograph to strongly suggest that he was a Muslim. BuzzFeed’s Andrew Kaczynski reminded Clinton that her campaign staff had circulated a photo of Obama in traditional Arab garb during a 2006 visit to Kenya. He tweeted:

And here’s the photo that the Clinton campaign was circulating in its smear campaign against Obama:

“The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat front-runner dressed as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya,” the Drudge Report said, according to a CBS News post at the time.

Clinton’s people didn’t deny circulating the photo.

And what was the Obama campaign’s reaction?

“On the very day that Senator Clinton is giving a speech about restoring respect for America in the world, her campaign has engaged in the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we’ve seen from either party in this election,” then-Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said in a statement, according to CBS News.

“This is part of a disturbing pattern that led her county chairs to resign in Iowa, her campaign chairman to resign in New Hampshire, and it’s exactly the kind of divisive politics that turns away Americans of all parties and diminishes respect for America in the world.”

Other folks on Twitter pointed out that she had said worse things about Republicans. The artillery barrage hit her almost from the moment Clinton’s tweet left her computer.

“People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones,” as the saying goes. Translation: Don’t criticize others if you have similar weaknesses yourself.
