Ted Cruz released a new commercial ahead of the CNN Republican debate comparing Islamist terrorism to a a scorpion ready to strike America — while the Obama administration does nothing.

“There’s a scorpion in the desert,” the narrator says to start the commercial released on Cruz’s Facebook page Wednesday. “For most of us, its venom is a clear and deadly threat. But others refuse to even speak its name.”

“Since the scorpion seeks our destruction, isn’t it time we recognize the scorpion for what it is before it strikes again?”

The allusion is an unmistakeable shot at the Obama administration’s refusal to acknowledge Muslim extremist terrorist attacks as being related to Islam, or to even say the words “radical Islam.”
