‘Future president’ Kanye West losing votes in the fashion industry already

Kanye West is no stranger to making people angry, so it ought to be no surprise that his presentation at New York Fashion Week is getting a negative response from others in the fashion community.

The hip-hop and business mogul — who has announced he’s running for president in 2020– has a series of designs appearing during the week in a presentation he scheduled at the last minute, which forced others to move their presentation times or square off against him, the New York Daily News reported.

“Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this,” designer Anne Bowen told Women’s Wear Daily. “It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this.”

Bowen’s show was scheduled for noon on Wednesday, but she now has to change it if she wants any media coverage or attention for her designs.

“We have been prepping for a year for this at considerable financial, labor and commitment cost to our company,” she said. “Our show date has been scheduled for months and has been on the Fashion Calendar for weeks. We went through all the proper channels to make this a reality. And just yesterday we learned that Kanye West is having a show at the same time on the same date as ours.”

Bowen said she has been forced to move her show three days after it was originally scheduled which is a “logistical nightmare.”

World famous fashion designer Naeem Khan is also affected by Kanye’s show as his show is scheduled for the same date and time, the News reported.

West has not yet responded to the complaints.
