Skinning certain fruits is a common practice but it’s doubtful many people ever thought of peeling this fruit.
Mark Rober, a former NASA engineer and YouTube video blogger with nearly 300,000 subscribers, posted a video on Aug. 31 to his channel “Creativity, Design, Science,” detailing how to skin a Watermelon.
The video starts with Rober pulling the the finished product out of its watermelon shell to the amazement of a group of astonished kids, but there’s more to the trick than that and it actually involves using two watermelons.
Rober shows his viewers, which to date have exceeded 19 million, how to skin, slice and smooth the watermelon into shape and put it into the shell of another watermelon for an incredible party surprise.
