‘Crazy for this little town!’ Manhunt launched as police cruiser shot at, catches fire

Massachusetts state police and local cops are looking for a man who fired at a police officer driving a police cruiser, striking the vehicle at least once and causing a crash that caused the car to burst into flames.

The officer was apparently not injured.

According to Fox News, the shooting took place about 3 p.m. in Millis, town about 20 miles southwest of Boston.

The gunman, who is described only as white, fired from a dark-colored, possibly maroon pickup truck.

Resident were being advised to stay in their homes while the search for the gunman continued, the Boston Globe reported.

“This is crazy for this little town,” said one woman, who told the Globe she has lived in Millis since 1979. “Nothing like that ever happens in Millis.”
